What is Clomid?

Clomid is a drug that is administered to women who have difficulty in becoming pregnant.

How does Clomid work?

Clomid stimulates the release of certain hormones that will enable a woman to ovulate, thereby increasing her chances of becoming pregnant.

What is the suggested dosage?

One 50mg dose is to be taken per day for 5 days. If ovulation does not occur in the first cycle, a doctor may increase the dosage to 100mg to be taken per day for 5 days. Clomid should not be used for more than six cycles. Do not change the dose unless your doctor has instructed you.

If you miss one of the daily doses, take it when you remember. Then revert to your normal schedule. Call your doctor if you miss more than one dose.

Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of expired or unused medications. Do not throw them down the sink or toilet, and do not place them in the household garbage bin.

How is this drug supplied?

Clomid comes in the form of white tablets, each containing 50mg of clomiphene. Other ingredients include stearate, sucrose, lactose, cornstarch, and magnesium.

During the use of Clomid, there is a risk of ovarian cysts occurring. Call your doctor if you experience bloating, rapid weight gain, pelvic pain, or stomach pain.

Male vasectomy is a popular method of birth control

One of the most popular and common birth control methods for men is a minor surgical procedure called a vasectomy. It is completely risk free and is almost 100 percent effective. During the procedure, the tubes that transport sperm into the ejaculatory ducts are detached. This prevents sperm from entering seminal fluid, thus the preventing pregnancy. After a vasectomy, the testicles will still produce sperm, but they will die.
